The What:
The charity driven Fort Wayne Derby Girls are teaming up with Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, The Steffen Group, Don Hall's Restaurants, and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art to raise funds for services and supplies for women with breast cancer in Fort Wayne. On October 2, 2008, the organizations will host an art exhibit and silent auction in conjunction with local artists, breast cancer survivors, and businesses. Aptly named “Bust a Move,” the event hopes to raise over $10,000.
The Why:
For “Bust a Move,” local artists and women have volunteered their talents and their bodies to create unique, inspiring cast representations of the female bust and the emotions associated with breast cancer. Each cast will be painted, mounted on a powder-coated metal stand, and auctioned off for charity.
